Information You Provide

If you contact me by email, I receive your email address and whatever information you include. I use that information to respond and maintain relevant correspondence.

Hosting and Technical Information

This site is hosted by Ghost. Operating and securing the site may involve processing technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times, and server logs.

These hosting records are separate from information you voluntarily send me. More information about Ghost’s practices is available in its Privacy Policy.

Analytics and Cookies

johnwlittle.com uses Plausible for privacy-focused website analytics. I use these statistics to understand overall traffic, referral sources, and which pages people read.

Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers to track individual visitors across websites. Its analytics provide aggregate statistics rather than individual browsing profiles. More information is available in Plausible’s Data Policy.

Ghost or other enabled site features may use cookies or browser storage for technical functionality. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

I do not use personal information for targeted advertising or sell it to advertisers.

Newsletters and Site Registration

Newsletter subscriptions and site registration are currently disabled.

If enabled in the future, these features may collect your email address, name or username, and subscription preferences. I would use that information to manage your subscription or account and deliver communications you request.

Newsletter emails would include an unsubscribe option. I will update this policy when these features are activated.

Bluesky and Other Third Parties

Some pages display recent public posts from Bluesky. Your browser contacts Bluesky’s public API to retrieve them, exposing technical connection information, such as your IP address, to that service.

Following links to Bluesky or other external websites takes you to services governed by their own privacy policies. Embedded third-party content, where present, may also involve requests to those providers.

How Information Is Used and Shared

I use information to:

• Respond to correspondence.
• Operate and secure the site.

I do not sell your personal information. Hosting, email, analytics, and other providers may process information as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when legally required.

I retain correspondence for as long as reasonably needed for the conversation and relevant records. Hosting and analytics records are subject to the respective providers’ retention practices.

I take reasonable steps to protect information under my control. No website, email service, or storage system can guarantee complete security.

You can contact me to ask what personal information I hold about you or request a correction or deletion.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, you may have rights to:

I may need to confirm your identity before disclosing or changing information. If I cannot associate retained records with you, I will explain that. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or other permitted purposes.

Where GDPR applies, I will respond without undue delay and normally within one calendar month. If a permitted extension is necessary, I will explain the reason within that initial period.

This site is intended for a general adult audience. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, please contact me.

AI and Content Creation

I use AI tools to help with research, drafting, editing, illustrations, image creation, and podcast transcription. The extent of that assistance varies from one piece to another. I review written content before publication and make the final editorial decisions about what appears on this site.
